BELEZA! January 28, 2013

Hey everyone whats up!!! This week has been good we have the two grandchildren of our baptisms marked to be baptized saturday and also the boyfriend of the granddaughter ha ha and yesterday was the dedication of the new church ha ha and best of all we marked the Baptism of NATALIA!!!!!  when we marked her baptism the lesson was great we talked about faith and stuff and Elder Celestino shared his story of conversion and Natalia said that it seemed like he was talking about her and so we marked a date so that is just GREAT.Ha ha me and my companion are just great hes like my best friend and hes really optimistic about the area ha ha I want jake to come to Recife or at least to Brazil ha ha Thats my guess ha ha This week was kinda long it seems like and its good to be on Pday ha ha And I got the news about Carnaval its gonna be in february and we need to be in the house by 5 o clock and we need to avoid leaving the house if its bad in the area ha ha but I have so much to say it seems like but nothing to say ha ha but things are going good last night i used my suit for the dedication and I was burning up ha ha and that s in a room with ac ha ha we sung in a chior it was fun but i didnt get any pictures ha ha Im happy ha ha Im working and my coworker is my Friend ha ha So i dont have anything to complain about ha ha so today im going to relax and make some cookies ha ha yesterday i was in church and a member asked me if i had peanut butter and i told him he could buy it in the supermarket and to leave mine alone ha ha and i got to thinkin bout peanut butter and how my jelly isnt of the highest quality and i remembered Goibada thats kinda like jelly and its really good and then i got this brilliant idea to make cookies with goibada and those peanut butter chips and this idea was so good i couldnt keep it to myself and so i leaned over to my companion and say Ive got a brilliant idea! and my companion asks what is it ha ha thinking that i would have a great new idea to baptize lots of people and When I told him my brilliant idea he laughed a little than i realized its kinda sad that this was my brilliant idea in the middle of sacrament meeting ha ha but well see how brilliant it is today ha ha so ya thanks everbody for your attention sorry i dont got very good stories but Im really happy :) I Love you all!

Dear Family! 

Im doing Just great Here! with my new companion Im very happy this past week we baptized a family or more like A couple they were Elect they called us from the street and we taught them the Husband and the Wife really felt the spirit and know that this is the true church.

 We are planning on baptizing their grandson and granddaughter and to top it all off the New Chapel will be ready this week and I wont have to go to church in a Cotholic school!! The mission Is a wonderful thing and you learn and grow sooooooo....... much!!!! this Baptism was something very special and it taught me that we should Just go to church The sister that we baptized does not have a leg and it was amputated making it hard for her to get around the house nevertheless go to church. But the first time we invited her to go she went sure we arranged a car to take her but when we arrived Her and Her  Husband were ready to go! and after she went to church she asked us what she needed to do to be baptized! she didnt think about the difficulties that it would bring she just knew what she wanted! and In the picture maybe you can see but she had a surgery to remove a piece of bone from her wrist and Still she didnt want to postpone her Baptism. She showed me that were there is a will there is a way. and was very spiritual. Another Experience I had Is a little more sad. When me and my companion were searching through some of the recent converts in the area book we found a name of a girl that lived close so we went there and the mom let us in and was really happy to see us and we talked a bit and we found out that this girl who was baptized was starting to get mixed up with the wrong crowd and was smoking and staying out real late and worst of all shes only 11. And hearing this and that she doesnt want to listen to hear mom I Hurt inside and I felt pain and I wanted to help this Girl leave this life and go to church and then I realized that this particle of pain that i was feeling is the type pain that Jesus felt for me and for you and for all of us and I really tried to help this girl I told her about my life and about how the best years of my life were when i was listening to my parents and about my two sets of shoes the pair that i wanted to buy and the pair that dad wanted to buy ha ha the Pair i chose is wearing out fast so i only wear them for special occasions and my good set of shoes the shoes that i use everyday the faithful shoes that ive used and abused for 8 months are still strong and good are the shoes my dad chose for me so one of the things i have a strong testimony  about is this that our parents know what is right for us.. For the youth listen to you parents the path they choose may not look cool but will be more comfortable and more rewarding. And for the (Not Youth) The same principle applies to our father in heaven he has giving us a better pair of shoes..... hes shown us the way we should live to be happy and return to him. and we  can chose our shoes Or our style of life this is something that i have a strong testimony of.....  So please choose the Better shoes ha ha You will be blessed. These are somethings that have happened this week under the hot brazillian sun.

Well today is a good day Elder Sá took a bus outta my area :) ha ha Ive got some stories for you guys :) the first was when i was with Elder Sá  and Edson our investigator and Elder Sá doesnt respect Edson very much and this day he was mocking him and was telling him to catch the rooster that Edson has and my patience was running thin and when he told Edson to catch the rooster I lost it And I stood up I grabbed that rooster and i threw it in Elder Sá s lap ha ha he quickly stood and told Edson we had to leave ha ha he wasnt to happy of course ha ha It wasnt very Christlike of me But I wanted him to learn a lesson. and  the other day we got a call from President while we were in the street and Preident Lanius came to our house. on Christmas Elder Sá Invited two other Elders to our house to stay the night. And i didnt want to fight so i let him. and while these elders were with us they stayed up late playing games and making noises so the President was her to talk to us because our neighbors complained and wasnt to happy with the way Elder Sá had been doing things And so he was burning Elder for the things he did and came to a point that he asked who had been with us on Christmas and Elder Sá  sayed nobody and I quickly and firmly told him who it was. afterwards President Thanked me for being honest :) i felt really good about myself. I hope I can bettter myself and be more firm and straight up with my companions. Im learning alot of things here and this transfer im gonna try and be a Better person and A better Missionary I believe im Here for a reason too I hope i can Accomplish what the Lord wants of me Here. I love you guys and i miss you a ton but I Know the being here will be worth it it already has been worth it :) love you all And sorry i forgot my camera again :) Love you all, Elder Tyson Smith

So Today is a Good day! it marks my last Pday with Elder Sá ha ha hopefully :) Its good i remembered my camera today Ive got some pics to send ha ha well this is my first Pday of the new year and my goal Read the Bible and Book of mormon all the way though in portuegues! since last pday seems like a month has past but its passing so fast. The pics here are of Me, Elder Sa,  and Edson my friend. he needs some work to be baptized but i think he has a good heart

I told her it was good but it lacked the Love that my cake had ha ha we have some baptisms this week but there kinda marked because they want to wait til he chapel is ready which by the way be inaugurated the week after transfer so ill miss the new Chapel.... but Ill live this week  Ive worked alot and my mind is still all jumbled up from it as you can probably tell well ill talk to you next week hopefully from a new area :) and ill send more pictures Love you all and I love this Gospel! até mais!

Hey everyone im back this week was pretty good It was nice to talk to everyone on Christmas and it was kinda hard to wake up the day after knowing that id be spending the day with someone who doesnt understand me so he thinks im dumb but as soon as i was out on the street the feelings went away :j ha ha so Ive finally got something cool to talk about My friend Moises met a guy on the street crying close to where we meet for church and Moises was talking to him and introduced us to him the mans name is Edson he has a good heart and Edson seperated from his wife and lost his job. and is living in a Garage so since that day weve been meeting with Edson and yesterday he went to church and when we met him he was wearing shorts flip flops and no shirt ha ha so boy was i surprised to see the man dressed up nice and neat with a button upshirt and some church pants I felt so proud. :j but he still has some work to do were trying to help him get up on his feet and he needs to stop Drinking but I think it will be easier cuz he doesnt have money to drink ha ha but he really is becoming a friend to me. I like Edson. Well sorry i dont have any pics to be sending i was kinda mad with my companion and forgot to grab my camera again ha ha but it was good to read your emails today it reminds me that time goes on and speaking of time only two weeks til transfer woohoo haha i would use some exclamation marks but my keyboard doesnt work right ha ha oh and by the way a Lan house is exactly what it is there a bunch of computors with internet ha ha so thanks for everything that you guys do and for all you taught me. I love you all and im thankful for everything im learning and doing :j and i know these things will always work for my good Stay firm in the church and send AJ a hug from me haha LOVE YOU ALL A TON

Tyson was gracious and sung to us during his Skype call to us on Christmas. He didn't get a computer with a very good camera, so the picture is blurry. But we really loved to visit with him and see the growth that he is making in his life.  There were quite a few times that he stumbled with his english, and we were glad to see that he is even thinking in Portuguese now, and doing his best there. Well first things first Its Hot here this weeks been hotter than normal. ha ha Its weird to think tomorrow is christmas it would probably pass unnoticed if it wasnt for the fact that i get to call home. ha ha people put up christmas lights but the heat and the sun and the work Just makes it Impossible to be Christmas ha ha! I think its probably a good thing that it passes like this. doesnt leave nothing to be homesick about ha ha. As for my racecar track it was ok when i got it and it works with c batteries and it was kinda boring but as you all know me I had to supe things up a bit. so i decided to use 9 volt batteries ha ha so now the cars go so fast that they will leave the track if your not careful ha ha. I think Christmas is the same here as it is there but i dont notice. im too busy to think ha ha. thats really cool to here that damon wants to be baptized! This week i was in sacrament and I had a really good spirit and I was happy with who i am, where im at, and where im going. One thing I think is different between me and my companion is that hes a great missionary, with 6 consecutive baptisms in his last area, and Im a good man, that sounds a little big headed. but it seems that my companion has no respect for anyone, and like he thinks like a child. the fact that in our first week here he practically only ate sweets and drank coke. and he absolutely hates to was dishes even if its just a plate and a fork thats dirty. and he always asks for help. I like to be independent and to be able to take care of my framily and myself. sure Im not perfect and i need to work alot on myself but the fact is Im glad That i was raised in a house that taught me to respect others and how to work. This is something that makes me happy is that i know these things and Use them in my life. If I dont Change anyones life I know ive changed mine, and that Ill never ever put aside my worthiness  or my family in my life for something thats just not worth it  well got to go LOVE you all
